2011 Color Prediction

Color predictions for 2011 are out; it’s going to be a fun year in home decor with lots of bright colors emerging. One of my favorite is called Honey suckle by Pantone. It a bright pinkish color that is sure to lift  the spirits of potential buyers. Honey suckle is great paired up with neutrals giving your space a playful pop of color.

Purple is not going any where in 2011 Benjamin Moore has announced that color of the year is a deep purple-wine color called Vintage wine. A great blog I came across this morning by Kiki Titterud . Kiki explains how this color is showing up in all industries. After reading Kiki’s blog this color really began to grow on me.

ICI color of the year is light yellow, its crisp, clean and airy. ICI say that symbolizes a freer spirit, sense of fun and positive energy.  Encapsulating a mood of hope and optimism, it conveys a feeling of fizzy sherbet, new growth, relaxed fun and the goodness and vitality of sunshine. Yellow in color psychology is often associated with:

  • warmth and sunshine
  • refreshing, cheering, and uplifting
  • promote communication and learning
  • combat fatigue and depression
  • engendering feelings of wellbeing and positive thoughts
  • enhance relaxation and minimize stress and anxiety

I love they way ICI has described this color Yellow is not new to fashion but it is for home decor I look forward to see yellow in 2011.

Move over Turquoise, Blue Curacao by Pantone is the new color we will see a lot of in 2011. A great compliment to Honey Suckle, I love how flirty and fun the color palettes for 2011 is. From fashion to cosmetics and home decor I think we are going to see a lot of bright colors in 2011.
