Hanging Artwork Like a Pro
When it
comes time to selling your home artwork is very important in directing the eye. Artwork also helps to create a focal point attracting the buyer in to the
space.
Not all artwork is equal, when choosing artwork you need to think about a few things like size, position and height. Smaller size artwork may not be the best choice they tend to consume visual space, larger piece create a stimulating atmosphere adding balance to the room. If you only have small pieces think of them as one unit group them together for the most visual impact.
Height plays a big part on the impact or the artwork; most artwork should be hung at eye level. This rule is does not apply if your hanging a piece above furniture. Rule of thumb when hanging artwork above a sofa the piece should be no higher than 6 inches above and up to 8 inches above other pieces of furniture. Guidelines for choosing the scale the artwork it should be one half to two thirds the width of the furniture its hanging above .When hanging pieces in the hallway always hang your piece 54 inches from the floor to the middle of the piece
Positioning is the hardest part the best way to ensure that only one hole is made. Use craft paper, cut out the frame shapes. Now you can create your arrangement, tape the paper to the wall using it as a guideline for your nail.
When selecting
the hardware for the artwork you need to consider the weight and hardware on the frame. Metal picture hooks work great
for lightweight frames with wire fitted. My favorite hardware is the Heavy
Duty Wall Hook they hold up to 150 lbs and can be bought at most big box
stores. The u shaped hook is twisted
through the drywall and push in to the wall until it locks. Follow these tips and
your artwork
