Home is Where the Heart is, But Not When You Sell

Home is where the heart is. Home is where you curl up at the  end of the day with loved ones. It’s a place where you create  memories, display collections and photo of travel from places  near and far. Home is where you can truly be you.

All these personal touches need to be packed up once you    decide to sell. Your home is now a product on the market and  can no longer reflect your taste.

It time to consider who will be buying your property, is it a  young family, a professional or maybe a retiree? You need to  help the buyer envision living in the space. A common mistake  people make when listing there home is leaving family photos up. It’s hard to envision living in a space where every surface is covered in photo of your wedding day or that great trip you took to New Zealand last year. This is verification that this is someone else’s home.

The buyer touring your home should have no idea of who lives there. All items that have your name or any kind of identifications like diplomas and mail should also be pack up.

The bathroom is also a very personal area of the house the needs to be pre pack prior to listing. The plunger, your tooth brush and your acne cream are things that can send yuck signals the stranger touring your home. If you would not find it in a hotel or spa pack it up.

If you want to sell your house quickly pack up your personal items. The sooner you depersonalize the sooner you will have a new house to call home.
