Selling your House With Color
Selling your home? Have you thought about the way color will affect
the buyer’s mood? Color plays on our emotional and psychological
state. Professional stagers will suggest you paint neutral and accessorize with
color, patterns and textures. By painting the background color neutral it gives
the eye a place to rest, punches of color add interest.
When choosing paint colors look at your current décor, choose a color from one of your favorite pieces. It could be from artwork, upholstery or the rug. Use this color as your inspiration for your color scheme. When you head to the paint store you can match the color from your inspiration piece. If you want to paint a couple color through out your home try to use a color from the same family as your inspiration color. The easiest way to know if its in the same family is choose your second color either one shade darker or lighter then your inspiration color. This will insure your color match perfectly.
Buyers need to connect emotional with your space. Color plays a big role in our moods and emotions are certain color better than others?
Red is mostly used in dinning room because it stimulates appetite and
digestion. Red is a bold color Stagers do not recommend using red in areas like
the bathroom because it is not a relaxing color Red is great way to add a punch
of color in your accessories to update your space. Using red at your front door
makes buyers feel welcome.
Yellow is a great color for staging. It’s very welcoming because it
is so bright and it’s a great color to lighten your space. Yellow is a color that
help us make decisions, it also promotes good judgment and well being.
Orange
Green is a neutral hybrid; it’s the color of growth and prosperity.
It works well with white and wood tones. It can be used in most room with out
turning off buyers.
White is a clean color can be use in any room and is a very easy
color to work with. It will intensify the architecture of your space.
Black is cotemporary, it best used as an accent color. Three
touches of black in every room helps to anchor the eye.
Brown matches well with lots of colors and is very welcoming.
Remember when picking colors for your home never choose more then three,
it will become over whelming to the buyer. Use the 60/30/10 rule 60% of your color
should be neutral floors, walls and ceiling. 30% would be furniture and the 10%
would be accents.
