Laminate flooring comes with 10-15 years warranty and if well maintained can last 10 to 30 years. Consider the warranty when you pick your flooring, the longer the warranty the longer the flooring will stand up.

Something to consider when installing laminate is laying the flooring on an angle, this will help to give the illusion of a bigger room. Laying flooring on an angle is more difficult with more cuts needed.
